VICTORYclad is a strong and flexible weatherproof cladding system to insulated systems providing a long-term solution to water ingress. 

Surface Preparation:

Ensure all surfaces are dry and clean, free from dirt and dust, grease, oil and silicones. The insulation materials should be installed to industry standards and sealed using one of VICTORY tapes approved aluminium foil tapes.

When applying the VICTORYclad ensure that the correct pressure is applied using the plastic applicator as the adhesive is a PSA and requires a firm application to provide a full surface bond.

When placing the cut piece of VICTORYclad into position, partially peel back the liner to allow correct positioning and then rub down, continue to peel back the liner whilst pressing in to place using the hand to prevent creasing, once the full piece has been applied use the plastic applicator and rub the complete surface to ensure the full adhesive bond required.

Continue to apply VICTORYclad ensuring that a minimum 4” overlap is observed to the previous piece to ensure a strong weatherproof seal.

Important: All Ducts transitioning into Buildings or Structures Must be Flashed and Caulked Approved Products for the Surface conditions of Building or Structures surfaces. Failure to do so, will Void Warranty.   

Application to Ductwork 

Rectangular Ducting:

It is required to provide a pitched top to provide watershed to rectangular ducting over 24” wide to help prevent water ponding. When installing VICTORYclad to rectangular ducting then it is required to be applied bottom side first with a minimum of 6” running up the sides, then the side sections are applied providing a 4” overlap to the underside piece running up the sides. Finally top is applied installing the top with an overlap running down the side sections by a minimum of 4”.

The overlap on to each sides even to sides already covered with VICTORYclad provides the best, strong weatherproof seal rather than trimming the edges. This method an essential part of the warranty requirements.

For ducting that include reducers, it’s best practice to ensure that the overlap of the VICTORYclad runs down on to the lower surface to provide the best watershed overlap rather than having the joint on the upward slope.

Important: All Ducts transitioning into Buildings or Structures Must use Flashing tapes and/or Caulk that is Approved for the Surface conditions of Building or Structures surfaces. Flashing and/or caulking shall carry its own warranty separate from Victory clad. Failure to flash properly, will Void Victory clad Warranty.   

                                                                                       Application to Circular Ducting:

On Circular ducting VICTORYclad is required to be applied starting at bottom running up both sides with a minimum of 6” running past the 50 percent of the circumference, then the top section providing a 4” to 6” overlap to the underside piece running up the sides of the duct. 

Once the full piece has been applied use the plastic applicator and rub down the complete surface to ensure a full adhesive bond is achieved. 

Continue to apply next sections VICTORYclad following the previous instructions ensuring that a minimum 4” to 6” overlap to the previous section applied to the previous piece applied to ensure a strong, weatherproof seal.

All Round Ducts transitioning to square ducts must be jacketed independently to be able to follow their specific installation requirements transition are to be jacketed after both round and square ducts are completed.

Important: All Ducts transitioning into Buildings or Structures Must be Flashed and Caulked with Approved Products for the Surface conditions of Building or Structures surfaces. Failure to do so, will Void Warranty.   

Increased Mechanical Protection:

The VICTORYclad although is mechanically strong and flexible which helps prevent damage, there are environments that may require extra protection such as areas of high foot traffic and areas that could see potential damage from birds such as seagulls, crows etc.

In these areas of concern please contact your local VICTORYclad representative for advice in providing a solution.

Maintenance & Repair:

We recommend that regular annual inspections are carried out on completed systems to review the performance of the application and to repair any damage that has occurred, this will help maintain the life of the system and ensure the insulated system is working efficiently.

Should there be any damage then it’s a simple repair by cleaning the surrounding surface of the damaged area by 4” to all sides of the area and then apply a new piece ensuring that it’s rubbed firmly in to place with the plastic applicator. Your system is then complete.

Application to Pipe Work

Straight Pipe:

Cut first piece of VICTORYclad to wrap around the pipe insulation and allow an extra 4” for the overlap, partially peel back the liner to allow easy positioning, rub into position before continuing to peel back the liner and smooth into place using the hand, once fully in place use the plastic applicator to rub firmly in to place. Continue to place further pieces in the same manner allowing for a 4” overlap on to the previous piece.

Pipe Elbows:

There are two ways to apply to the elbow:

1. Pre-apply VICTORYclad on to the pipe section before installation and then cut the segments to fit according to the type of bend, place the segments on to the pipe and tape together using VICTORYclad 200 tape and rub firmly into place.
2. To site apply VICTORYclad to the elbow cut fish templates similar to metal fittings, partially peel back the liner to allow correct positioning of the segment piece before removing liner and rubbing segment firmly in place. Once in place the use of the VICTORYclad 200 seaming tape can be used to seal the segment joints if required.

Pipe Tees:

There are two ways to apply to the tee:

1. Pre-apply VICTORYclad on to the pipe section before installation and then cut the shapes to fit the pipe tee, place the cut segments and tape into place using VICTORYclad 200 seaming tape ensuring that the segments are pushed tightly together before applying the VICTORYclad 200 seaming tape. Rub the tape firmly from the center of the tape outwards ensuring the tape edge provides a flat tight seal. All longitudinal and butt joints to be taped with VICTORYclad 200 seaming tape.
2. Cut templates as per metal jacketing to fit the Tee section, where the Tee segments meet use the VICTORYclad 200 tape to seal the Tee joint rubbing from the tape center outwards to provide a flat tight seal. All longitudinal and butt joints to be taped using VICTORYclad 200 and rubbed down firmly to provide a strong smooth seal.

Notes:

The insulation materials should be installed to the industry standards while installing VICTORYclad failure to so may affect the long-term performance of the product. 

The use of any use of spray glues will void warranty and result in damaging the adhesive integrity. 

All underlying insulation products should be sealed using one of the VICTORYclad approved Aluminium foil tapes to maintain the warranty conditions.
